Clementon is a borough in Camden County, New Jersey, which was established in 1925 after a February 13 referendum voted to divide Clementon Township into nine municipalities, including Clementon. The Clementon Amusement Park formerly had one of the oldest roller coasters in the nation, nicknamed “The Jack Rabbit;” it was built from wood in 1919 and operated until 2002. It was popular with area residents even after modern steel roller coasters become more common but was torn down in 2007. There are a handful of widely recognized people associated with the borough, such as Arthur Rose Eldred, a business executive who was the very first Eagle Scout in the nation, and Arnie Fish, a university instructor and professional bridge player who has written books about the game.

Book an RV in Camden County, and you can enjoy a reliable and comfortable vehicle that will set your vacation apart from others. Other towns and communities are worth visiting while you're here. Trenton was the site of George Washington's first victory during the American Revolutionary War. Toms River has been a shooting location in a number of movies and TV shows, such as Boardwalk Empire and the original The Amityville Horror. Atlantic City has been home to the Miss America Beauty Pageant since 1921 and is the inspiration for the Monopoly board game's U.S. Version. Vineland was originally designed to be an alcohol-free utopian society; later its creator discovered the land was suitable for grape orchards and the production of non-fermented grape drink. Your Clementon travel trailer rental is your introduction to this historic and scenic area; where you go from there is up to you.

The Great Outdoors

Brendan T. Byrne State Forest is an outdoor public recreation area where guests can hike or mountain bike the park trails in summer and cross-country ski or snowshoe on those same trails in the winter. Some of the trails are wheelchair accessible; trails for non-disabled visitors range in difficulty. The park is home to Whitesbog Village, an important cranberry and blueberry-producing community in the 19th and 20th centuries. Horseback riding is allowed, as well as hunting and fishing; visitors can picnic or watch for the swans that migrate and use the park as a refuge.

Rancocas State Park is a rustic, undeveloped park providing outdoor recreation access to the public. There are no public washrooms or staffed facilities within the park, but the Rancocas Nature Center has restrooms and offers wildlife and outdoor educational programs to the public; all ages are welcome. Numerous trails traverse the park's hardwood forest and freshwater tidal marsh. There is a self-guided trail with highlighted points of interest that visitors can explore on their own. Keep your Clementon RV rental nearby, and you can go old-school adventuring like an explorer before returning to the creature comforts of your RV.

Wharton State Forest is a wildlife refuge and outdoor recreation area that includes a former industrial center, Batsto Village, that produced iron bog and glass between 1766 and 1867. It is one of the largest refuges in the New Jersey State Park system and a popular destination for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. There are trails that wind through woodlands and open fields, and long stretches of unpaved road where wildlife observers can look for bird and mammal species, such as bald eagles and great-horned owls, and plant life. Visitors are welcome to canoe and kayak the numerous lakes, rivers, and ponds.
