Holdingford, MN, is located in Stearns County, and its claim to fame is being "The Gateway to Lake Wobegon." Of course, the lake is a fictional creation of author Garrison Keillor. Rest assured though, Holdingford is there.

The city was laid out in the 1870s by a gentleman named Randolph Holding. The post office in this charming town has been operating since 1872.

Another famous claim for the city came during Prohibition when the city became famous for producing Minnesota 13 whiskey, in turn earning the title, "moonshine capital of Minnesota."

Nearby cities include Avon, which is less than ten miles north, and Albany less than 15 miles to the southwest.
