Bald Mountain State Recreation Area, just 20 miles northwest of Sterling Heights, is a rugged 4,600+ acre park with many lakes, miles of trails, stretches of beautiful beach, and picnic areas. The studio where so many amazing hits were recorded is a magical place, and you’ll feel transported back to the ‘60s with all the photographs of the Motown stars. If you have time, a tour of the studio is also an interesting experience.

Another must-see in the Detroit area is Belle Isle with its aquarium, pavilion, and Dossin Great Lakes Museum. The aquarium is a special treat with exotic fish and those local to the Great Lakes.
