Surrounded on three sides by water, a trip to Hull is all about spending time in the ocean or at the beach. Fortunately, one of the best beaches in the Boston metro area is located in Hull. Nantasket Beach on its southern end is a favorite among Bostonians, with softer sand than most New England beaches and without the hassle of driving all the way down to Hyannis or Cape Cod. There’s also a great historic carousel there and a museum that covers the beaches heyday as a vacation resort in the first half of the 20th century.

Visiting the Boston Harbor Islands is also must when you choose an RV rental in Hull. Ferries from Pemberton Point, the town’s most western point, can take you to several of them, and each is loaded with great hiking trails and historical sights from the past 150 years. Georges Island is one of the most popular destinations as it's home to Fort Warren, a Civil War-era fortification that was once a prison for captured Confederate soldiers.

If you’re looking for a great hike when you get a motorhome rental in Hull, you can’t beat Wompatuck State Park, just a short drive away. This is one of the largest natural areas near Boston and is crisscrossed by both paved and dirt paths that are suitable for any fitness level.

As with much of eastern New England, RV parks can be a challenge to find in Hull. One of the closest campgrounds is in Wompatuck State Park near Hingham. Sites there have electrical hookups and bathrooms.

The next closest campground, in Fourth Cliff Recreation Area, is considerably farther away in Marshfield. Sites there have full hookups and laundry facilities and there are also some really interesting historical ruins that date back to World War II just a short walk away.

Hull’s nearest Walmart is a short distance away in the town of Weymouth. If you’re only staying for a short time and can deal with not having anything in the way of campsite amenities, it might be worth looking into getting manager permission to stay there with your camper rental in Hull. Finding fuel and a dump station in the densely populated Boston Metro can also be a bit of a challenge. Most of them will be a little way out of the town, near the intersections of major highways like Route 1 and Interstate 495.

As the majority of Hull is located on a narrow peninsula, it’s possible to see much of it just by walking down one or two streets. Most of the restaurants, shops, and art galleries are towards the southern end of the peninsula, close to Nantasket Beach. The northern portion of the peninsula is much more residential, but it’s also home to Fort Revere and its surrounding parkland. The park contains the ruins of both a Revolutionary War-era fort and one that served from the end of the 19th century up until World War II. Its location on Telegraph Hill, the highest point in Hull, also makes it the ideal lookout if you want to see the surrounding harbor islands.

Hull also has a fascinating maritime history that is worth exploring if you rent an RV there. The Hull Life Saving Museum, while relatively small, is an interesting tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives in the pursuit of keeping the waters around Boston Harbor safe. For much of its history, the harbor has been the site of many shipwrecks and it was the residents of Hull who were frequently tasked with saving the lives of those on board - at great danger to their own.
