Harrodsburg lies in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, in the heart of the famed Bluegrass region. Its claim to fame is the fact that it is Kentucky's oldest town. Therefore it is no surprise that it is filled with historical sites and places of interest.

In addition to the town sites, just a short drive away are some incredible natural wonders, such as the Kentucky River Palisades and the Daniel Boone National Forest. There are also a range of trails, bourbon distilleries, and wineries all just a short drive away. You certainly will not run out of things to do when you book an RV in Mercer County. The Great Outdoors

Anderson Dean community park is where to head if you want to enjoy the great outdoors without straying too far from town. The area includes an aquatic facility, two miles of walking and biking trails, picnic shelters, sports courts, a disc golf course a skate park and lots more spaces for recreational activities.

Although a bit of a drive away, Daniel Boone National Forest is an outdoor wonderland that should not be missed when staying in a luxury RV rental from Harrodsburg. Heading north is another popular RV site, Camp on the Kentucky. Exploring the City

One of the city’s biggest tourist attractions is Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. This National Historic Landmark comprises of 34 original Shaker structures and has a busy calendar of hands-on music, programs, and tours, as well as recreational activities in the Preserve. The center also offers seed to table meals, paddles up the river, and boat rides. Spend ages exploring all of the buildings before stopping for a bite to eat at the restaurant or browsing the shops.

A walk along the Downtown District will reward you with an array of beautiful architecture. It is here that the National Register Historic District lies, a whole street that is reminiscent of an earlier time. Most of the buildings here date back to the 1880s and 1890s. Although called a park, Old Fort Harrod State Park is much more of a tourist attraction. The centerpiece for Old Fort Harrod State Park, located in the heart of the city, is the full-scale replica of the fort built by James Harrod in 1774, which was the first permanent American settlement in the state of Kentucky. The complex also features a Mansion Museum, Greek Revival Home, pioneer cemetery and more. Overall the park spans 15 acres and is a great place to get an insight to pioneer life. There is also a small playground to keep the kids entertained.
