The Great Outdoors

Because you’ll be in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, you could spend weeks enjoying that luxury RV rental in Georgetown and not exhaust the many gorgeous places you can visit. You do need to keep in mind that some of the roads can get quite tight, so it’s a good idea to have a secondary, smaller vehicle available if you hope to reach some specific destinations.

Guanella Pass offers some gorgeous views of the aspen trees in the area. The drive around this area is gorgeous, even when you have a travel trailer rental in Georgetown. It’s best to dress appropriately because the weather can change quickly in this part of the country. The hikes here are considered moderate and in some areas, they can get quite steep.

Clear Creek Canyon is another great option for hiking. The classic Colorado scenery is breathtaking and with the creek dribbling by next to the road, you have numerous opportunities to pull over, get out of that Georgetown motorhome rental, and take some pictures you’ll remember for a lifetime.

The Argentine Pass is also in Georgetown and is another place with amazing views and a great hiking area. This is a high Alpine hike, especially if you begin at the old Waldorf Mine Site. It’s an old road, so even if you aren’t the best hiker, this can be manageable.

RV Parks

Being in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, you won’t have trouble finding a decent RV park. Prospector Campground is a United States Forestry Service maintained RV park. They only have water hookups, but they do have pull-through sites, big rig access, and waterfront access, if available when you pull in with your camper rental from Georgetown. It is located on the south side of Lake Dylan, nestled between Dylan and Frisco.

Cottonwood RV Camp is located in Idaho Springs, Colorado and has full hookup service, including 30 and 50 amp electric. They do allow pets and big rigs can access this park. The park is considered well-groomed and some of the sites do have grass. There is a creek with trout babbling by, but they do not allow fishing here. Most of the sites are gravel and are close together.

The Heaton Bay Campground offers water and 30 and 50 amp electric, pull-through sites, and big rig access, but there is no sewer. They do provide restrooms and pets are allowed. When you enjoy a luxury RV rental in Georgetown, this park does have adequate space between the sites.
