The small city of Waterford, California sits on the Tuolumne River, several miles east of Modesto. Like many of the towns in the area, Waterford was settled by 49ers looking for prosperity and wealth in the form of precious gold. Once known as Bakersville, the town opted to change its name to Waterford after much confusion arose with regards to the similarly named Bakersfield.

This splendid community is in a favorable position near the gorgeous Sierra Nevada Mountains, making it an ideal place to rent an RV. In fact, when you book an RV in Waterford, there is so much freedom and flexibility to truly craft your vacation to your tastes. If you want to head west to the San Francisco Bay area, or perhaps north to the state capital, Sacramento, it is easy to navigate the well-maintained highways California boasts. The natural beauty of Northern California is unparalleled and easy to access too, with several recreation areas, state parks, national forests, and national parks within a reasonable driving distance.
