Only a half hour’s drive South of Riverside and an hour and fifteen minutes Southeast of downtown Los Angeles, Menifee is the perfect place to get an RV rental. Outside of the notorious traffic of LA and its accompanying smog, when you rent an RV in Menifee, you’ll actually be able to breathe in this little town of 80,000 people. It’s also located just nine miles North of Temecula, meaning you’ll never be short on great shopping opportunities or fun, family-oriented activities.

The Menifee area is served by the Riverside Transit Agency, with public buses running to both Riverside and the Temecula area on a regular basis. While you’ll have no trouble navigating the streets with your RV rental in Menifee, it might be best to leave it at the park when visiting more densely populated areas.

RV Parks in Menifee

As there aren’t as many tourist attractions in Menifee as in Riverside or Temecula, there are also fewer RV parks. When you rent an RV in Menifee, there isn’t too much competition for space. The Wilderness Lakes RV Resort is the most developed RV park in the Menifee area with a pool, fitness center and laundry facilities. It’s also the closest to town, being just a few minutes from the downtown area.

Both Meadowbrook RV Park and Palm View RV Park and Campground are located about twenty minutes from Menifee, in the town of Perris. They’re fairly rustic, but Palm View does have a pool for cooling off. If you need to visit the dump station with the Menifee RV rental, there’s a 76 Truck Stop in Perris just a couple miles North of Meadowbrook and Palm View RV parks. That’s also where the closest Walmart is if you need to stock up on supplies.

Exploring the City of Menifee

Menifee was initially built as a retirement community and was not intended to have major industries or much in the way of attractions. However, in the last couple decades, the city has grown, and it is now trying to draw the tourists that have been flocking to Temecula for years.

Most of the shopping in Menifee is concentrated around the intersection of Newport Road and I-215. There you’ll find outlet standards like T.J. Maxx, Kohl’s, and Ross Dress for Less alongside some smaller businesses like the local skateboard shop. There’s also a Krispy Kreme tempting you throughout the shopping experience with the most delicious of smells.

If you’re traveling with kids on the Menifee RV rental vacation, consider spending a day at the nearby water park, seven miles to the north. You can enjoy a lazy river ride along or a Flowrider for surfing, and if you don’t feel like getting in the water,  rent a cabana, where you can sit back and read a book.

The Motte Historical Museum has an impressive car museum with dozens of vintage vehicles housed in a salvaged wood barn. If you’d like to get a little artsy, the Painted Earth has tons of ceramics you can decorate yourself. It’s a good way to create a souvenir of your time in the Menifee area.

Craft beer fans will appreciate Mason Jar Brewing Company for its casual atmosphere; most of the seating is at communal picnic tables and their draft beer is excellent. Hoppy IPAs and pitch-black porters are all served inside a mason jar, of course!

Getting Outside in Menifee

If you want to get outside without venturing too far from town with the RV rental in Menifee, check out Spirit Park, which is just a few minutes from the downtown area. It’s pretty small, with just a couple of tennis courts for facilities, but you can do a few laps around the walking path if you’re in need of some exercise. If you’ve brought your pooch along, you should visit Aldergate Dog Park. There’re plenty of friendly dogs for yours to run around and play with and you’ll have the chance to chat with some fellow owners.

The beautiful Canyon and Diamond Valley Lakes are both within an easy driving distance from Menifee if you’re interested in watersports or just a day of relaxation near the lovely blue water. If you’re a thrill-seeker and don’t mind jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, you might enjoy a skydiving adventure. A tandem jump requires no skydiving experience is pretty affordable. It’s certainly the best way to get a bird’s eye view of the Menifee area.

When you book an RV rental in Menifee, it’s probably worth the little road trip to visit Joshua Tree National Park; just an hour and a half to the East of Menifee. Dozens of trails crisscross the beautiful scrubland of the park, providing a day or even a week of outdoor adventure if you like. This is where RV rentals in Menifee really come in handy. After a long day on the trail, it’s a lot nicer to come back to an air-conditioned RV and a home-cooked meal than it is to a tent and box of mac and cheese.
