Lyoth, California, is an incredibly small town and may just be in an ideal location for travelers. It is actually a crossing point for the California Northern Railroad and the town appears to have been built around it. It is wedged between Vernalis and Tracy and sits about an hour’s drive outside of San Francisco and San Jose. When you search for an RV in Lyoth, you won’t be too far south of Stockton and just a bit more than an hour's drive outside of some major national forests and parks.

In fact, when you have a quality motorhome rental in Lyoth, you can visit Yosemite National Park to the east. If you’re willing to take a bit of a drive and go just north of San Francisco, you can visit Point Reyes National Seashore and spend some time along the waterfront. To the northeast is Tahoe National Forest where you can visit Lake Tahoe with the RV trailer rental from Lyoth.

Discover Lyoth

The Great Outdoors

In the town of Lyoth itself, you may not find very much. It has the look and feel of an industrial center, but that should be expected when you consider it is a major freight railroad hub. However, if you head over to Tracy in your Lyoth luxury RV rental, you can visit Wicklund Park. It’s considered a large park with basketball courts, a soccer field, and plenty of open space. On occasion, they have concerts and other special events taking place, so it’s something to look out for when you rent an RV in this area.

If you have a quad with you or want to rent one, you can visit Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area, also in Tracy. There are easy dirt areas for relative beginners and there is also tougher hilly terrain for more advanced riders. There are miles of trails to explore and this could be a wonderful activity for the whole family.

Nearby you can also enjoy some boating and water recreational activities at a number of area lakes. You don’t have to own a boat or be dragging one along with you because there are places you can rent and enjoy some of these wetter activities.

RV Parks

Since Lyoth is such a small town, you won’t find an RV park here. When you rent a motorhome in Lyoth, you can head over to Manteca and the Turtle Beach Fish Camp. It’s only a few miles away and offers a fair number of sites. They do provide full hookup service, including 50 amp electric. They allow pets and have big rig access, but there are no pull-through sites.

Dos Reis Regional Park is located in Lathrop and offers full hookup service, including 30 amp electric. They do provide restrooms and showers as well as a playground for children. They also offer fishing on site. If you’re looking to do some hiking in the area, they have recreational trails that head out and away from the park, giving you plenty of opportunities to explore the region.

Caswell Memorial State Park provides pull-through sites and pets are allowed, but they don’t offer full hookup service. It is more ideal for smaller rigs-if you have a luxury RV rental from Lyoth greater than 24 feet, this might not be a place to try.

Exploring the City

In nearby Tracy, you will find the Grand Theatre Center for the Performing Arts. Depending on who is performing at the time you rent a motorhome in Lyoth, you may be able to get up close to the artist. Nearby are plenty of eateries and it can make a wonderful date night. Parking is relatively easy but if you have a larger Lyoth motorhome rental, you may need to plan ahead.

The Tracy Historical Museum is considered a hidden treasure by locals. There has been a great deal of research conducted on the exhibits here. You can learn a lot about the town’s history as well as the region where Lyoth sits. The region is growing, and Lyoth right along with it.

An activity that sometimes gets overlooked for those who seek out an RV rental in Lyoth, California can be hot air balloon or skydiving adventures. If you have an intense fear of heights, then this is something you don’t want to pursue, but if you want to experience the region and possibly even see some of the cities and mountain ranges off in the distance in a new way, this could be something to look into more closely.
