Knightsen, California is a small town east of the San Francisco Bay Area. Settlers began moving into the region during the 1880s. They started planting almond trees but a few dairies also sprang up. In time, other crops were planted, including apricots, grapes, and alfalfa. When the railroad finally came through the area, it began to grow and expand. Juniper Campground, in Mount Diablo State Park, is located in Clayton and has pull-through sites. It also allows pets and tent camping. Contra Costa County Fairgrounds is located in Antioch and offers RV sites with full hookup service, including 30 amp electric. Cell coverage should be decent here but you may not find access to Wi-Fi.
