The town of Ione in California has gone by many names in its turbulent history. Bedbug, Hardscrabble, Freeze Out, and Woosterville are just a few of the incarnations of this peaceful town southeast of Sacramento. The land where Ione now lies was once home to the Sierra Miwok indigenous people until the arrival of settlers in the 1840s. When the Gold Rush frenzy hit California, legions of immigrants made their way westward to settle in nearby towns and Ione took advantage of the influx of people by becoming a major supply and agricultural hub to establish itself as an important community.

The fertile valley Ione occupies is a rare in eastern California due to the dry, arid climate and general lack of water. When you search for an RV in Ione, you can easily reach the state capital of Sacramento or Stockton to the south with an effortless drive in your Ione camper rental. Ione is known for its small-town charm and diversity as it was one of the first towns to house Chinese railroad builders in California. History and natural beauty are what you will find in Ione when you decide to rent an RV.
