Eldridge is a tiny town in Sonoma County, halfway between Napa and the city of Santa Rosa. The town is named for James Eldridge, one of the original deed holders for the Rancho Cabeza de Santa Rosa land grants. The land grants allocated the land to the residents of Eldridge to establish a community.

Eldridge has always been a small town since its inception but there is great potential to craft an excellent vacation here after you rent an RV. When you book an RV in Eldridge, it is not so much about what is in town but what can be found nearby. Its ideal location is firmly located in Wine Country near Napa and Sonoma, so vineyards, grapes, and wine tastings are a huge part of the local culture. The Mediterranean climate makes for excellent grape growing conditions and even better vacation weather with warm, dry weather nearly all year round. With the San Francisco Bay area less than an hour's drive away and some of the nicest beaches on the west coast, Eldridge is for sure a great choice when you find yourself looking for a place to explore.

Outdoors Adventures

There is no place quite like Northern California for those seeking the soothing sounds and sights of nature. The undeveloped coastlines, redwood forests, and towering Sierra Nevada Mountains are all within reach when you decide to rent an RV in Eldridge. Just outside of town, Sonoma Valley Regional Park awaits outdoor enthusiasts and greets you with beautiful scenery. There are several miles of hiking trails, like the Valley of the Moon Trail, a paved trail beside a trickling stream. Biking and horseback riding are welcomed in the park too, but there is no place to camp with your Eldridge camper rental.

Trione-Annadel State Park is just north of Eldridge by the city of Santa Rosa, and one of the region’s best-known state parks. The park is known for its volcanic origins, obsidian rock formations, and diverse wildlife. There are sunken marshes, meadows full of wildflowers, and northern oak woodlands that are some of the best examples of undisturbed forest in the world. There is no camping at this park so you won’t be able to stay overnight in your Eldridge camper rental, but there are lots of paths for hiking, biking, horseback riding, as well as fishing in Lake Ilsanjo.

Lake Berryessa is a massive lake north of town, popular as a weekend getaway destination and for summertime vacations. The lake holds more than 20,000 acres of water and is home to many recreation opportunities and a seaplane base. You can fish in the serene waters, go for a boat ride, swim, hike around the reservoir, or go camping at any of the campgrounds that dot the shores of Lake Berryessa.

Point Reyes National Seashore is a divine nature spot on the Pacific coast north of San Francisco, and one of the most undisturbed, undeveloped, and unbelievably aesthetic parks you could imagine. The beaches that line the shore are essentially hidden away, with ample space to have a slice of paradise to yourself. Epic hikes through the old forests lead to waterfalls nestled between rock faces, bluffs overlooking the ocean, and campgrounds for you and your Eldridge motorhome rental.

RV Parks to Visit

Eldridge might not have big city attractions but there are plenty of places to camp in your Eldridge RV rental by owner in the general area. Sugarloaf Ridge State Park is an option if you don’t feel you need upscale accommodation found at most RV resorts. What you sacrifice in luxury by staying at this state park is surely made up for by the impressive scenery and closeness to nature.

San Francisco North/Petaluma KOA is surrounded by restaurants and shopping centers and it has amenities like a pool, a hot tub, a sauna, a snack bar, and bicycle rentals for guests to ride around Petaluma. There are several other camping spots in nearby Napa and thousands more in the national forests to the east and north of town.

City Sightseeing

When you rent an RV in Eldridge, CA, the first thing you will notice when you enter the town is the assortment of wineries that populate the town. Wine is much more than a drink in Eldridge; it is more like a way of life and nothing illustrates this better than the vineyards that greet you nearly everywhere you turn in Sonoma County. Several historic estates on massive vineyards can be seen around town and much of the local tourism relies on these vineyards to attract people to Eldridge and other nearby places. Millions of people flock to California’s Wine Country each year to sample some of the best wine in the world.

Aside from the massive wine industry, there is not much else to do in the town of Eldridge. There are incredible restaurants and retail boutiques, but you might have to drive to Sonoma, Napa, Santa Rosa, or San Francisco if you are after real attractions, landmarks, zoos, museums, or music venues.
