Despite the population of Coloma now nearing 500, during the Gold Rush this town had the same number of inhabitants as San Francisco has today. During this time, some miners quickly cottoned on to the fact that the idyllic weather conditions here, coupled with the fertile soil, meant that farming could be more lucrative than the mining industry. As a result, in the 1860’s there were over 3000 acres covered in grape vines, an industry that has carried on into the present day. Today, visitors can enjoy an array of experiences and barrel tastings and some venues even offer food pairings. A great experience for anyone who enjoys a glass of wine!

Tickets are generally around the $5 mark, with children under 12 having free entry, perfect for couples, groups of friends and families.
