Chualar sits in the heart of the Salinas Valley in Monterey County, California. It was first settled in the mid to late 19th century and remains a relatively small town to this day. When you search for an RV in Monterey County, you’ll have no trouble finding some good options, which is great because there’s so much to enjoy around this area.

You won’t be too far south of San Francisco and San Jose, and you’ll also be close to Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park near King City. If you’re willing to take a decent drive with that RV rental from Chualar, California, head due east and visit Sequoia National Park. Just a bit north of that sits Kings Canyon National Park and, if you travel just a little bit farther east you can visit Death Valley National Park, too. The Great Outdoors

This region of the country is arid and yet gorgeous. There are plenty of rolling hills, trails, and sites to enjoy. When you’re cruising around in the best RV rental Chualar has to offer, check out Toro Park in Salinas. This is a great venue for walking, hiking, and even jogging. It has challenging pathways and plenty of places to stop and picnic or barbecue. There are also some playgrounds if you have children along for the ride in the motorhome rental from Chualar.

Fort Ord National Monument — Badger Hills Trailhead is also located in Salinas and is great for walking and mountain biking. There is a wide range of terrain and one trek for more advanced riders. There are also wide trails for beginners or those who want to take a more leisurely pace.

Another great activity to enjoy when you rent a motorhome in Chualar is visiting a vast number of vineyards. These vineyards that are close enough to the Pacific Ocean are carefully positioned here because the cool autumn air rolling off the waters in September and October help to ripen the grapes, making for great finished wines.

The campground with the Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca Recreation Area is located in Salinas and has water and 30 amp electric hookups. They have pull-through sites, restrooms, and showers. For larger RVs, it may be a bit tight and the roads are narrow and quite steep. It is also close to a raceway.

Exploring the City

Although Chualar is a very small town, when you rent an RV here you can take a short drive and visit a number of great destinations, including the birthplace and boyhood home of author John Steinbeck. There is an abundance of sightseeing tours in and around the region. You can take a helicopter tour and cruise on over the vineyards, cliffs overlooking the Pacific, or even take horseback riding tours right down on the ocean waters themselves. When you’re surrounded by such amazing beauty and wonder, enjoying it all by cruising around in a luxury RV rental from Chualar, take advantage of every opportunity and see what they have to offer. You can even take drives along some of the most gorgeous scenery you’ll spot from the roadway along US 1 running up and down the coast, including through Monterey.

Finally, whether you have children or not, you might want to check out the Monterey Zoo. They boast over 100 animals and it’s a top attraction in the area. They continue to expand and are devoted to helping educate people on some exotic animals and the importance of environmental conservation.
