Extraordinary Arcadia is a peaceful suburb of Pasadena, in Los Angeles County. For 8,000 years, the land in which Arcadia now sits was the ancestral land of the Tongva indigenous people, before the arrival of the Spanish. This affluent suburb was named for a city in Greece and has been widely considered to be one of the most affluent and ritzy places in southern California. Due to its proximity to Hollywood, lots of movie stars and famous musicians choose to live in Arcadia, and you can frequently see filming for commercials, TV shows, and movies happening in the city.

Many travelers book an RV in Arcadia because its position is excellent for vacationers. If the town itself wasn’t already enough of a draw, with its world-class dining and unparalleled retail shopping, its location near one of the most famous cities in the world solidifies it as an exciting place to visit. Better yet, the incredible San Gabriel Mountains hover over the valley and remind visitors to take the Arcadia camper rental for little excursions into the national forests and parks that California has in bunches.

Discover Arcadia

Experience the Sites and Scenery

It is truly difficult to know where to begin when describing just how astonishingly beautiful California can be. The serene desert landscapes, high mountain vistas, exotic coastlines, and spectacular, towering trees are all quite easy to see when you rent an RV in Arcadia, or anywhere in southern California really. Arcadia itself has an assortment of lovely outdoor spaces that are suitable for a variety of different recreational reasons. Fifteen wonderful parks serve the community on Arcadia, as well as a community center; and that's not even counting parks like Arcadia County Park, which is maintained by Los Angeles County. Arcadia County Park has an Olympic-sized swimming pool, 12 lighted tennis courts, baseball fields, and a wide range of other activities open to the public.

Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area is a quick and easy place to bring your Arcadia RV rental without driving too far; swimming, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, and birdwatching are fun ways to enjoy the excellent views of the San Gabriel Mountains.

Speaking of the San Gabriel Mountains, Angeles National Forest is located north of the Los Angeles Metro area and features stunning hiking trails and glorious, panoramic views. Scattered throughout this mesmerizing swath of trees and mountain peaks are wonderful campsites that can accommodate you and your Arcadia rental camper. San Bernardino National Forest and Los Padres National Forest are also located close to Arcadia, and both provide visitors with tranquil camping, with nature on your front step.

You could take a boat to Channel Islands National Park off the coast of California, where you can kayak through sea caves or spend the days scuba diving; the pleasant, sandy beaches are a great place to observe the native wildlife or read a book.

Joshua Tree National Park is definitely worth a visit with the Arcadia rental motorhome, as it is only a few hours to the east. Two distinct deserts clash to create a complex ecosystem unlike any other in the world. Additionally, the unique limestone rocks and structures throughout the park are great for bouldering, and the night skies are quite literally heavenly.

City Attractions

It might not be downtown Los Angeles, but Arcadia has world-class dining and shopping, and amazing nightlife, to cater to the bevy of movie stars that call the city home. If you are looking for some historical context for Arcadia, the Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage features exhibits about the settlers, Spanish missionaries, rancheros, cowboys, and of course, the native Tongva people who called Arcadia home long before anyone else did.

The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden is another iconic attraction worth mentioning in Arcadia. Different exotic species of plants and trees can be found everywhere in the gorgeous gardens, and calming, meditative walks are the best way to explore it. In the center of the gardens is the Queen Anne Cottage and Coach Barn, a magnificent display of craftsmanship and architecture. The cottage was built for wealthy pioneer and businessman, Lucy Baldwin, whose statue can also be found in Arcadia.

Santa Anita Park is a racetrack and features fine dining and a variety of different horse and dog races that onlookers can bet on. This racetrack remains the most popular feature of Arcadia, one that brings in countless tourists and locals each year.

Los Angeles/Pomona/Fairplex KOA is one of the closest RV parks nearby, and it has a large pool, a spa, and a hot tub. There is also a Hollywood Sightseeing Tour run by the staff that you can use for exploring the city.

Acton/Los Angeles North KOA is a bit farther away. The pool is open through summer and early fall, and the dog park and on-site snack bar make for a quality time. Chino Hills State Park is only a short drive south of town, and happens to be one of the very best parks in the area.
