Sites and Scenery

In the immediate area, there is a myriad of places to visit with your RV rental near Jacksonville. From right in your backyard, to areas just a short drive away, you will be able to really enjoy all that this area has to offer.

One of your first stops should be the lovely Holland Bottoms State Wildlife Management area, just a couple miles northeast of Jacksonville. From fishing to picnicking, or camping and boating, this is a nice, secluded area to enjoy nature. There are lots of walking trails, and spots to take in the views of the plants and animals of the region. Lake Pickthorne offers boating and swimming spots and is a great place for sunsets. After rains, some trails can get muddy, so make sure you have some good boots when you go.

Drive 85 miles west in your Jacksonville motorhome rental to explore Ouachita National Forest. This expansive forest area features recreational activities like hiking, scenic drives, and camping in a rugged mountain landscape. With almost two million acres of forest, the trails are beautiful and suitable for hiking, horseback riding, or mountain biking. Water first attracted people to Hot Springs, and the soothing warm waters can help visitors heal and relax. Hot Springs National Park, which actually includes part of the city of the same name, includes these magical places where people from all backgrounds have been visiting for hundreds of years. Known as “The American Spa”, Hot Springs National Park includes the historic Fordyce Bathhouse, Valley of Vapors and the Bathhouse Row National Historic Landmark District. Guided tours are available, and of course, you must take a nice, long soak in these natural mineral waters.

City Sites

One of the most popular attractions in Arkansas and the southeastern United States is the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum. Ranked by many as one of the finest Presidential libraries you can enjoy, the building is beautiful, and the grounds are impressive. The museum is a “green” building, incorporating modern sustainable energy features, includes a recreation of the Oval Office during Clinton’s presidency, as well as displays and artifacts pertinent to that time in history. Kids of all ages love the Little Rock Zoo, with experiences and sites that inspire people to value and conserve the natural world. Local history like the Titan II missile tragedy of 1965 is included in the exhibits, as well as outside exhibits of planes, helicopters, and a thoughtful and beautiful memorial to soldiers and service members.

Make sure to check out the fun vibe at the downtown River Market District, Little Rock’s premier entertainment area. Here you’ll find museums, a park, restaurants, shops, and pubs. Start exploring this area by checking out the exquisite Ottenheimer Hall, a public gathering and event spot.

Where to Park It

The second Saturday of the month at this farmers market is especially fun with Lil’ Farmers Club, Rock City Animal Rescue, and Garden Gourmet Chef Series.
