The vast, wide-open state of Alaska leaves a lot of possibilities when it comes to deciding where to bring your Healy campervan rental. Two of the best parks in the state are within an hour's drive of Healy. Farther away, Chena River State Recreation Area is located on the other side of Fairbanks, a few hours' drive to the northeast. Chugach State Park is just outside of Anchorage, one of the largest and best-known cities in the state. There are majestic overlooks and vantage points scattered throughout the area, and ample space to canoe, kayak, rock climb, boulder, and camp. Directly next door to the Denali State Park is Denali National Park, the true star of the show. This legendary recreation space is mostly responsible for Healy’s tourism industry, and when you rent an RV and bring it to Denali, you will soon see why. This six-million-acre paradise has a mix of evergreen forests, taiga, tundra, mountains, streams, and glaciers, with a larger area than the state of New Hampshire. This vast expanse is also home to Denali, the tallest mountain on the entire continent, measuring in at just over 20,000 feet. No matter what part of the park or state you head out to explore, you are surely in for a treat.

Even in the remote parts of Alaska, you can find at least one or two places to camp overnight when you rent an RV. Privacy and space are a big part of Midnight Sun RV & Campground, with lots of room to get comfortable. There is a shuttle service to town, a restaurant, a convenience store, and a bar all within a few minutes’ walk.

Denali RV Park & Motel has restrooms, showering areas, hiking trails, outdoor cooking kitchens, ATV tours, and a lot more. Denali Rainbow Village is a unique mix of RV park, hotel, and shopping mall packed into one convenient mix. There are places to camp, restaurants, and souvenirs for sale, along with whitewater rafting, ATV riding, and other outdoor adventure companies based in this amazing village.

Healy doesn't have many city attractions, as most visitors are typically preoccupied with the dazzling nature and parks in the area. In the town, you can find a few restaurants, flight tour businesses, and dog sledding companies, so fun experiences can be had while you spend the day close to Healy. Helicopter and plane tours of Denali National Park are exceptional ways to see the beauty of Alaska.

The Stampede Trail is a popular trail in the woods, chock-full of abandoned buildings and cabins left behind by the now defunct antimony and coal mining industry. Aside from these remnants of industry, there is a Fairbanks city bus in the woods where the subject of the book and movie Into the Wild was found deceased after trying to survive in the harsh wilderness of Alaska. The now-famous story of Chris McCandless ended at this fateful place in the middle of the woods, and the bus now serves as a sort of shrine, visited by people from all over.

If you love skiing and snowboarding, there are several mountains close to Healy that you can try out. Moose Mountain Ski & Snowboard Resort is a fantastic place to spend a day or two, with everything from beginner trails to black diamond expert terrain. The resort focuses on the snow and delivering a rustic experience.
