The picturesque city of Sylacauga is located southeast of Birmingham. Originally settled by Native Americans, Sylacauga's name originates from two Indian words "Chalaka-ge" meaning "the place of the Chalaka Tribe." Native Americans moved from land in the 1800s, and the city was incorporated in the 1830s.

Sylacauga is known as "The Marble City" due to the city being built upon some of the hardest white marble in the world. The result of this is that Sylacauga contains many beautiful white marble buildings, and Sylacauga marble has been a significant industry in the city for many years. RV rentals in Sylacauga are ideal, as you'll be very close to Talladega National Forest and you'll be able to explore the beauty of Sylacauga.
