If you love live music outdoors, nothing could immerse you into the summer mood better than the experience of Camp Euforia. Started in the year 2004 as a small barnyard party, the camp features performances from over 25 artists in an incredible communal setting. The festival always happens around the middle of July, and is kicking off this weekend. Tickets are usually around $65 – $110.
Camp Euforia’ s all about music and community. While most of the bands scheduled to perform are from Iowa, organizers always invite a few other bands from all over the country. With the main band Eufórquestra still going strong, be prepared for an electrifying performance from the group. Lead singers Kim Dawson and Jennifer Hartswick will do the vocals, while Matt Grundstad and Robert Espec will handle the percussion and saxophone respectively.
Some camping tips for those of you who are interested in experiencing Euforia: Upon your arrival, you will be charged $20 as parking fees. Note that this fee is per RV, so if you have a large group in several RVs, you will have to pay the said amount for every vehicle. Although a main parking area will be provided for campers, exceptions will be made for self-contained RVs. A separate space will also be provided for setting up tents, provided you have an RV.
Outdoorsy is the place to find RVs for exactly this situation. Browse through the site and imagine yourself grilling next to your own little world at the festival. Rental charges range from around $100 – $400 per day, depending on timing, size and features of the vehicle.
Everyone makes easy friends at the camp. Attendees share a love of music and hanging out. Camp organizers also allow campers to come with their own generators and barbecue grills, so be sure to invite your new friends over for some pork ribs.
