The National Park Service is spreading the news: there are going to be 10 free National Park days in 2017. Following their amazing Centennial celebration last year, they are more committed than ever to getting people appreciating the beauty of our country. Circle these days on your calendar now!

April 15-16 and 22-23 // Weekends of National Park Week
August 25 // National Park Service Birthday
September 30 // National Public Lands Day
November 11-12 // Veterans Day Weekend
Hundreds of Free National Parks to visit in the U.S.
If you head to the Find Your Park page of the National Parks site, you can also look for the park closest to you. Did you know there are hundreds across the country? Or, as the site says, “There are more than 400 natural, cultural, and historical gems across the National Park System.” Who knew?
Last September, we also wrote about the release of Google’s New National Parks App. If you’d like to see some video footage or get pumped up for a trip, this is a great place to start.

With the kids off school anyway, now is the time. Take it from me–I drove my first RV into a Yosemite National Park last October, and it was one of the most incredible trips I’ve ever made!
